No, it cannot. The shelving unit would tilt, posing a risk of items falling.

What kind of garage is it suitable for?

The ceiling should be constructed of wooden beams or concrete. If wooden beams, the appropriate beam spacing is 12/16/24 inches. And the length of the axle is 71”, please make sure the beam is of sufficient length.

Is it suitable for a ceiling height exceeding 9 feet?

We sincerely recommend ceilings not exceeding 9 feet. The maximum length of the pole used for raising or lowering the deck is 4 feet, so if the ceiling is higher than 9 feet, you may need to stand on a ladder to reach the pole.

How to adjust the height of the wire deck?

Use the included hand crank or power drill (not included) to raise and lower the deck. Turn the handle counterclockwise to raise the wire deck and clockwise to lower it. Turning in the wrong direction will affect use, such as causing an uneven deck.

Why is my wire deck not level?

Please ensure the following four points during installation: Was it installed using installation template? Is the ceiling level? Is the installation distance correct? Is the direction of the rotating handle correct?

NOTE: The axle length is 71″ which is longer than the 4×4 ft deck. Please make sure the beam is of sufficient length. Fits 12″, 16″ or 24″ ceiling joist spacing.
