Product Features
Razor-Sharp Japanese Carbon Steel Blade
The blade edge is made of Japanese carbon steel and hand sharpened by Japanese craftsmen. It is sharp right out of the box, making a smooth silk surface to the wood.
*Blades need to be tuned before use. Japanese hammer GENNO (8-16 oz) or wooden mallet (36-55 mm) are recommended.
Quality Laminated Structure
The blade edge (Japanese steel) is laminated by soft iron. The layered construction of the two steel materials increases blade durability and improves sharpening ease. This is the traditional structure of the Japanese-style blade.
Durable Japanese Oak Body (Oil Finished)
KAKURI uses only natural white oak that has been carefully and naturally dried for around three years after logging. Excellent durability and comfort in your hand.
*The oil-finished body is less deformed, slides better on wood, and also the blade can be adjusted more easily.
Made in JAPAN, Japanese Craftsmanship
