The Steel max D1 PRO is an all-purpose drilling machine for the steel fabricator that demands dependable and versatile production tools. Lightweight and portable, this single-speed drill features a powerful 1020-Watt motor capable of cutting holes up to 1-9/16″in diameter in 2″thick material. The D1 PRO is equipped with the most advanced electromagnetic technology, including an Energy Saving Base (ESB) and Magnetic Field Shape Control (MFSC). The ESB uses only 50% of magnet power when the motor is not under load, which reduces heat build-up and significantly increases the operating life of the electromagnet. The MFSC system provides maximum holding power on thin material, down to ¼”. A Magnetic Power Adhesion Control (MPAC) module detects the adhesive force of electromagnetic base to insure adequate holding power for safe operation.
