The workshop stinks of nuts at the moment.
I’m also tripping over big wooden vice screws and having to breath in to squeeze by the massive slabs of ash that are sitting there on my trestles.
This all feels familiar.
It’s because I’ve just finished tarting up some workbenches ready to sell.
I have a rather large collection of workbenches at the moment.
Everything from unfinished builds and prototypes, to old things that I couldn’t resist buying.
So I’ve decided to have a bit of a clear out.
I’m in the process of starting on a new venture, one that I think most of you will be interested in.
It’s gonna take time and a fair bit of funds, but I’ll keep you all up to date as I move forward with it.
To make a start I thought it was time for me to part with some of my cherished workbenches, and maybe build a few more.
As each bench becomes available for sale I’ll do a full post about it, so you have all the details.
Today I thought I’d just give you a heads up on what’s coming, in case one is more suiting for you to wait out for.
Upcoming Workbenches
The first is a 5ft long Little John. (Photo at the top of this post)
This is the very first one I made – the prototype.
It’s got a few upgrades to it that I’ve just added, including a cross system in the leg vice, and I’ve put a spiked planing stop in too.
This bench hasn’t seen much use at all but I’ve still gone over and given it a full tart up making it very close to new.
I’m looking for around £1400 for this one.
The next is very special to me as it’s my actual bench.
It was one of the first ever workbenches that I built for sale, and then I ended up using it to build every bench on since.
It’s my beloved English bench in ash.
I’ve just given it a full make over so it functions like new with just some added scars as tell tale signs of its use. And blood.
For this one, make me an offer.
If you want the world’s finest bench, it’s this one. It’s 7ft long.
The next will be a 6ft English style bench built in solid oak.
This one is basically new. It has a shaft system face vice and is built like a tank. £2500
And finally, due to space reasons at the moment I need to finally part with my 12ft English workbench. This is the one we built in the video series. It will be serviced and the top flattened up before delivery.
Make me an offer with this one.
I plan on sharing some more photos and details of each bench one at a time as they’re ready. But if there’s one you think you might be interested in feel free to ask questions or make a reservation straight away (contact us here)
Then once these ones are gone I’ll update for the next batch.
Oh, and it’s the finish that smells of nuts…
